The Cortland Common Council will meet tonight at 6pm at City Hall, 25 Court Street in the City of Cortland for another meeting full of agenda items and discussions.
Before the discussion and votes of the resolutions, two proclamations are planned to be announced by the City. The first will be congratulating and recognizing the Cortland High School Varsity Girls Basketball team for their season, and proclaiming April as Fair Housing Month in the City of Cortland.
Agenda Items 1 and 2 will be to confirm the Mayor’s appointments to the Planning Commission and the Board of Public Works. Both terms will last until December 31, 2025.
Another item on the agenda, item number 3, will adopt local law no. 12 of 2023 to amend the City Administrative Code relating to mandated statewide municipal code enforcement regulatory updates.
The State of New York has recently announced provisions that require all municipalities to update their respective charters and/or codes relative to the administration of NYS Uniform Fire Prevention and Building Code and the NYS Energy Conservation Code. The City notes that a majority of the provisions are already in compliance, but does have to make certain revisions to its Code Enforcement Program for it to be in compliance with the latest state regulatory revisions.
