The City of Cortland Common Council met last night at City Hall for their first meeting in the month of May. During last night’s meeting the Common Council voted to authorize several special event permits for upcoming events within the City of Cortland.

The events given the “green light” for permits include the St. Anthony’s Day Festival, YMCA 5K Viking Run, and the Cortland County LGBTQ Center’s Cortland Pride Festival. Additionally, the CNY Mustang Club was given a parade permit for their Cruise Night Car Show on May 19th.

St. Anthony’s Day Festival will be taking place on June 8th and 9th at 50 Pomeroy Street in the City of Cortland. This year’s festival will feature live music, food, kid games, and fireworks.

The YMCA of Cortland will be hosting a 5K Viking Run on June 15th. The 5K will both start and end near Courthouse Park, beginning at 9am. Registration is open until June 14th at noon.

The Cortland LGBTQ Center will be hosting their Cortland Pride Festival again this year in Courthouse Park on July 13th from 10am to 2pm.

All permit applications were reviewed by the Police, and Fire Departments, Youth Bureau, and City of Cortland Clerk’s Office.
