The city of Cortland Fire Department was included in the latest round of grants from the federal Assistance to Firefighters Program. It will now receive more than $27K.
Congressman Brindisi made the announcement yesterday, just a week after the Cortlandville Fire Department received more than $85K from the same program.
Assistance to Firefighters is a U.S. Department of Homeland Security program, distributed through the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) in cooperation with the U.S. Fire Administration.
The federal grant program helps local communities across the country ensure their first responders and emergency service workers have the resources they need to keep them safe.
