The Cortland County Chamber of Commerce held their annual Awards Dinner last night (November 14) at Greek Peak Mountain Resort, where local individuals and businesses from six distinct categories were recognized for their success.
This year’s Small Business of the Year Award went to Don Richards and Complete Construction Concepts, which has provided contracting services to the area for the past 35 years.
The Large Business of the Year Award was given to a father-son enterprise, Forkey Construction and Fabrication, which was started by Charlie Forkey nearly 20 years ago and joined by his son, also Charlie, in 2001.
The Community Heritage Award went to St. Mary’s School, serving Cortland children for 91 years now.
That award was accepted by Principal Denise Hall.
As for Non-Profit of the Year, the Elizabeth Brewster House in Homer was this year’s winner, which was accepted by Executive Director Mike Kilmer.
Brenda Cottone was named this year’s Community Service Award winner, and this year’s Up and Coming Millennial award went to Evan Ramiza, an accountant at Sciarabba Walker.
