The Cortland County Business Development Corp. has finalized a $50 thousand dollar grant for the Cortland Line Company. The money will help keep the manufacturer in Cortland.
The BDC board voted yesterday to formally commit the funds. The money was part of a $200 thousand dollar incentive package that was put together to keep the company in Cortland.
Cortland Line currently employs 22 people, the new owners plan to invest $700 thousand dollars to update production machinery and will look to add more jobs in the future.
BDC Board Chair Mike McMahon says the grants do come with requirements.
The company was considering moving production of Cortland Line products to China.
