Cortland BDC Announces Small Business Assistance Programs

The Cortland County Legislature voted Thursday (November 18) evening to authorize $300,000 of the County’s $9.2 million-dollar American Rescue Funds to be used to support local businesses as they recover from the COVID pandemic.



Cortland Business Development Corp. has announced that they will have applications for programs to support small businesses that are looking to create new jobs or to better serve their customers. The Cortland BDC plans to have a Building Façade Improvement Program, Small Business Expansion Assistance Program. and a Downtown Business Assistance Program These programs aim to enhance downtown districts through business investment.

The BDC will be soliciting applications from the business community and each project will be scored based on the priorities that have been established. It is anticipated that awards will be made by March of 2022.
