A partnership between Cornell University and Sun World International has created two new varieties of grapes.
Sugrafiftytwo is a sweet early-ripening green seedless grape, and Sugrasixty is a large red grape with a tropical aroma.
They are the fruits of a 13-year partnership, where royalties from the commercialization will support the Cornell Grape Breeding and Genetics Program.
Leaders of this effort say this could lead to an expansion of an Eastern table grape industry.
