Congressional candidate Democrat Kim Myers included Cortland on her last minute campaign tour Monday.
“I can lay my head on the pillow and know that I’ve told the truth,” said Myers. “I’m a mother of six – you have to lead by example, and that’s what I’ve done and that’s what I will always do.”
Myers and most of her family rallied supporters at Cortland County Democratic Party headquarters on Port Watson Street.
She described what it’s like to run for Congress and the feeling she gets when she sees something as simple as a lawn sign.
“Omigosh. That’s my name! That’s my name out there. Somebody has thought enough of me to put that sign on their own property,” said Myers. “That’s encouraging and I don’t take that for granted and I don’t take that lightly.”
Myers plans to watch election night returns at a Binghamton Hotel.
Election Day visit
Republican Claudia Tenney plans to visit the Cortlandville Town Hall around 1 pm on Election Day, part of her daylong journey across the 22nd Congressional District.
The third candidate, Martin Babinec, will spend the day in Little Falls.
