The City of Cortland Common Council gathered for a regular meeting Tuesday night to discuss multiple agenda items.
Among those was a proclamation congratulating and celebrating Cortland High School Varsity girl’s basketball for winning the Section III Class B Championship and appearing in a State Championship Final Four. Cortland Mayor Scott Steve offered his praise on the team’s success.
“First, I’d like to recognize and I’m going to go up to the podium for this. We have a outstanding basketball team. They did a great job this year.” Mayor Scott Steve said.
Among other actions, the Council also set required public hearings April 4th for the purchase of equipment from NY Hemp Oil, LLC under the NYS Small Cities CDBG Program, and to provide info to the public on the CDBG program and let them participate in the grant process.
Additionally, the Council agreed to appropriate $40,000 to the Cortland Police Department for purchase of a Tactical Response Unit Vehicle.
