During the City of Cortland’s Common Council Meeting last night, the Common Council voted to approve Mayor Scott Steve’s appointment of the Director of Administration & Finance.
The appointment comes after the City Administrator Hiring Search Committee presented to the Common Council their recommendation for appointment.
Chair of the City Administrator Hiring Search Committee, Johanna Ames spoke to the council and mayor on why the committee made this recommendation after positive feedback from the applicants reference check interviews.
Ames continued on and finally announced the name of the applicant the hiring committee had recommended. Cortland Mayor Scott Steve made the official announcement of Lisa Henty.
Just a short while later, the council voted on Agenda Item number 1 of confirming the mayor’s appointment of a director of administration and finance unanimously for Lisa Henty.
“I am humbled and honored to be selected as the City Administrator for Cortland. I look forward to working collaboratively with the Mayor and Council on the various projects and initiatives that are currently underway. I am truly excited to return home to the greater Central New York area and continue my passion for public service.” Henty said in a press release.
Additionally during the Common Council meeting, Councilwoman Pennello made note of new children’s books available at the waterworks little library.
