Cortland County legislators recently got their annual committee assignments, which changed for 12 out of 16 in the group this year.
Four will sit on their same boards due to limitations with balancing and time constraints, according to chairman Paul Heider.
He said the changes were made to accommodate the start of four-year terms in 2021.
“One of the benefits four year terms provides is the opportunity for legislators to gain more in-depth knowledge about the current status of various operations within the county,” Heider said. “That understanding can help all of us make the most educated and objective decisions about various policies and other matters for the County and its citizens.”
Heider added that the majority of legislators gave positive feedback and were “more than willing to make changes for the benefit of County.”
