Cortland Mayor Brian Tobin gave a positive outlook yesterday on the reconstruction of Clinton Avenue.
A basecoat of pavement is now complete up to Cleveland Street, creating much easier access to the city’s east end.
“The rest of the project, up to the railroad tracks, is coming along (another couple of weeks),” Tobin said in a post on Facebook.
He added, “This is a necessary multi-million dollar investment into the infrastructure underneath the road. Thank you for your continued patience!”
Work along the entirety of Clinton Avenue is part of an overarching Northeast Gateway project.
Funding comes from part of the city’s $10 million DRI award.
