Mayor Brian Tobin issued a statement yesterday afternoon declaring he won’t seek re-election this Fall for a sixth term.

He was elected in 2007 after spending the four years before that on city council.

In part, Tobin said he is stepping down to spend more time with family and continue to manage other responsibilities.

This year also marks his 19th season as head swimming and diving coach at SUNY Cortland.

We’ll sit down with him at a social distance for a conversation airing on this Saturday’s edition of Meet Cortland County.

Stay tuned, as we will also be speaking with Chief Mike Catalano about his pending retirement in the coming weeks.
