City Police This Week Looking For Spafford Man; Other Area Arrests

The City of Cortland Police Department has announced this weeks Warrant Wednesday on their Facebook Page.

Police are looking for Scott D. Barber, age 45. His last known address is on Cold Brook Road in the Town of Spafford, New York.

He has an arrest warrant through the Cortland City Court that was issued on July 12th. The warrant is for criminal possession of stolen property and falsifying business records, both felonies.

Warrant Wednesday is a partnership between the Cortland Police Department and citizens to bring wanted criminals to justice. Each Wednesday, a wanted criminal is featured.

According to City Police, they’ve charged Katie Pittsley, age 33, of Taylor for criminal possession of stolen property.

She was arrested on Tuesday (July 24th) just after 2pm. Police say while at a residence on Winter Street she was in possession of a stolen bicycle.

She was released and is set to appear in Cortland City Court on August 6th.


According to the Cortland County Sheriff’s Department, they’ve charged Leonard E. Moore Jr., age 35, of Freetown for failure to register as a sex offender as required by the New York State Sex Offender Registry Statues.

He was located in the City of Cortland on Saturday (July 21st) and arrested by deputies.

He was processed and is due in Town of Freetown Court on August 1st.
