City police & fire welcome new members

The City of Cortland Police and Fire Departments introduced new members last week.


On Friday, police chief Frank Catalano welcomed Officers Kristyn Drake and Joseph Saladino to the force.

Both graduated October 30 from the Law Enforcement Academy in Broome County that began March 30.

They have since returning to CPD for an intensive field training program ending December 30.

The rookie officers were sworn in at a ceremony by Mayor Brian Tobin, alongside Chief Catalano and Lt. David Guerrera.

Joining the city fire department for a career position is Seth Henry, a volunteer with Cortlandville FD where his father, Gere, serves as chief.

Seth was sworn in by chief Wayne Friedman and mayor Brian Tobin.

His native Cortlandville company congratulated Seth on Facebook.
