The City of Cortland Common Council looks to move ahead on the future for the former Parker School at 85-99 Madison St. by submitting a grant application to Restore NY during the Common Council meeting this evening at City Hall.
Restore NY provides municipalities with financial assistance for property improvements that will encourage development and neighborhood revitalization by eliminating and redeveloping vacant structures.
A public hearing was held earlier this month relating to the city submitting to the grant, no one spoke. The grant application will be for a request of $2 million dollars to facilitate the renovation of Parker School.
The former Parker School will then be renovated for residential use.
