City of Cortland police officers are again partnering with the Walmart in Cortlandville this holiday season to help give back to the less fortunate.
The PD is currently accepting nominations for children in the Cortland City School District as part of this year’s Shop with a Cop event. Each child selected will be given a specific amount of money to go and shop with a City of Cortland officer. They’ll be expected to also buy a gift or gifts for someone in their family besides themselves. In addition, a pizza party will take place the day of the event.
Children who have previously been chosen can’t be picked again. Nominations must be in for consideration no later than November 20th and will be taken by email at podonnel@cortland.org. Include the name, age and reason why the child should be picked.
