City of Cortland Police Department Announces Promotion of Officer to Sergeant

Deputy Police Chief for the City of Cortland Police Department, Cute, announced the promotion of Patrol Officer Austin Fiske to Uniform Sergeant of the Police Department. Deputy Chief Cute says the position came open after the promotions late last year of a new Police Chief and Deputy Chief with the Cortland Police Department.

Chief Cute noted there were several candidates and it was no easy decision as all candidates were highly qualified. He did add Sergeant Fiske was the senior member applying for the promotion; he has been with the department for 5 years.

Sergeant Fiske was sworn in as a Sergeant with the department by Mayor Steve with his family by his side.
