City of Cortland Looking to Update It’s Comprehensive Plan

The City of Cortland has determined it’s time to look at updating its comprehensive plan. New York State funds are available for municipalities to update comprehensive plans.

The current plan was done over ten years ago, in 2012.

According to a memorandum between the city and Thoma Development, the city has completed a majority of the included goals and some other required updates. While DRI funding supports many downtown improvement projects, a completed Brownfield Opportunity area study, and ongoing waterfront revitalization program Thoma says the city is poised to get back to the comprehensive planning stage and create a new set of goals for the next 10 to 20 years.

We’ll have more on this story as the application process continues.
