The city of Cortland’s composting facility aon South Franklin Street has been reopened, after being closed just short of a month for safety improvements.
Mayor Brian Tobin made that announcement this morning (September 5).
Residents can now resume using the facility, but should pay attention to all signage that directs them where to go.
City officials say improvements made include the installation of a new netting that will help keep flying objects and debris from landing on nearby residential properties, such as those on East Avenue.
The compost site is located at the city Department of Public Works, 19 South Franklin Street.
