City of Cortland Common Council Meets Tomorrow Night at City Hall
Tomorrow, Tuesday, the City of Cortland Common Council will meet on the third floor of City Hall in Downtown Cortland. Items on tomorrow night’s agenda will include approving more special event permits, authorizing an agreement to lease more parking spaces in Downtown Cortland, accepting a major donation for Parker School’s playground and gymnasium improvements, and more.
Since the closing of the VFW at 76-78 Main Street the private parking lot that was located in the rear of the building looks to be leased to the City of Cortland for additional parking in the busy downtown area. According to the resolution for tomorrow, the city will lease the parking spaces for a one-year period at a cost not to exceed $20,000. Residents in the City of Cortland have expressed concern for the lack of parking in the area, especially on Main Street after the street was rebuilt leading to the loss of about 48 parking spaces. The leasing of the former VFW parking lot should add another 20 spaces.
Tomorrow’s meeting is open to the public and available to watch online via Zoom. You can find the entire agenda and Zoom link HERE.
