City of Cortland Common Council Meets Tomorrow Evening

The City of Cortland Common Council meets tomorrow night at 6 o’clock at City Hall in the City of Cortland. Tomorrow night’s meeting will include a public hearing regarding proposed local law number three; Amendment of Chapter 300 – Regulation of Cannabis Dispensaries and Related Retail Establishments.

Under the law, both Cannabis Dispensary and Head Shops would only be permitted in General Business 1 within the City of Cortland’s Zoning District. If approved by the Common Council, the law would go into effect immediately.

Other items on tomorrow night’s agenda include approving multiple special event permits for the Corn Ducky Derby, YMCA 5K Run, Cortland County Dairy Parade, and Overdose Remembrance Candle Vigil. The Common Council also looks to once again declare No Mow May, which allows residents to let their lawns grow to provide early flower pollen/nectar for insects.

Tomorrow night’s meeting is open to the public on the third floor of City Hall or may be streamed via Zoom. You can find the Zoom link HERE.
