Some issues have risen with residents within the City of Cortland regarding street lights being out. Councilmember Mary Clare Pennello of the city’s 3rd ward said she has had a number of constituents reach out to her regarding the amount of street lights out.
Residents voiced their concerns to Pennello on dark streets, bringing up a safety hazard. She continued on noting that is a city-wide issue, but Department of Public Works Superintendent Nic Dovi said there is a quick process to alert the DPW to the outages.
The City of Cortland’s website has a work order form available for residents to report on any street light outages. The link to the form may be found HERE.
“Just let me know where they are and I’ll take care of them.” Dovi said.
