Cincinnatus Man Charged Following September Crash in Truxton
New York State Police have arrested a man in connection with a September 2025 crash investigation in the Town of Truxton.
40 year old Pablo A. Rodriguez of Cincinnatus was taken into custody on February 11, 2026, on an outstanding arrest warrant. He’s facing four counts of Criminal Contempt in the Second Degree, a misdemeanor, and multiple traffic tickets.
The charges stem from a September 22, 2025, investigation after state troopers were dispatched to a reported one-vehicle crash with injuries on Crains Mills Road. When troopers arrived at the scene, they located a vehicle in a ditch but found no one inside or in the immediate area.
Troopers interviewed the registered owner of the vehicle and determined she had not been involved in the crash. According to police, further investigation revealed that Rodriguez had borrowed the vehicle and was traveling southbound on Crains Mills Road when he left the roadway and entered a ditch. Authorities allege Rodriguez fled the scene following the crash.
Troopers later determined that Rodriguez went to the vehicle owner’s residence. When law enforcement arrived at that location, Rodriguez reportedly fled into a wooded area in an attempt to evade police.
During the investigation, troopers learned that Rodriguez was subject to a valid order of protection prohibiting contact with four individuals at the residence. Police allege he violated that order by making contact with those individuals.
Despite efforts to locate him at the time, troopers were unable to find Rodriguez and subsequently applied for an arrest warrant.
In December, authorities learned Rodriguez had been remanded to the Chenango County Jail on an unrelated matter. On February 11, 2026, troopers obtained a securing order, took custody of Rodriguez from the jail, and transported him to Truxton Town Court for arraignment.
Rodriguez was ordered to reappear in court on March 11, 2026. He was returned to the Chenango County Jail, where he remains as he continues serving his sentence on the unrelated charge.
