Centro Announces Major Route Changes Starting in March

Centro says starting on Monday, March 2, some major changes will take place for Routes 1 through 4 in Cortland County. The changes follow months of Centro collecting information on current routes and work to create a more efficient route.

Centro some of the changes include looping segments removed. Services to popular origins and destinations will be maintained and routes will be streamlined away from low-ridership areas. This will also increase travel time from 45 to 40 minutes, Centro estimates.

Buses will also have two additional round trips per day on each of the four routes.

Centro stresses the changes are part of an experimental route update based on rider feedback, driver input, and internal review. The changes will be evaluated for their effectiveness prior to becoming permanent changes.
