After all that rain the past few days, the National Weather Service has upgraded the watch to an Excessive Heat Warning for all of Central New York, starting tomorrow afternoon (July 19) and running through Saturday evening (July 20).
They say maximum heat index values will range from 100-105F tomorrow afternoon and from 100-110F Saturday afternoon due to high temperatures in the mid 90s and dew points in the lower 70s.
The combined heat and humidity may cause heat stress during outdoor exertion or extended exposure.
Make sure you drink plenty of fluids, stay in an air-conditioned room and out of the sun if possible, and check up on relatives and neighbors.
This kind of heat can get very dangerous very quickly.
