Cayuga Medical Center Award as Primary Stroke Center

The Cayuga Medical Center has recently earned the Joint Commission’s Advanced Certification of Distinction as a primary stroke center. This certification Cayuga Health says, is for hospitals that provide the critical elements to achieve long-term success in improving outcomes of care.

“We are proud of our hard-working teams for earning this Advanced Certificate of Distinction,” says Dr. Martin Stallone, President, and CEO for Cayuga Health. “This certification shows our staff’s dedication to continually improving patient care, especially in critical situations like stroke, where seconds matter.”

Cayuga Health says they underwent rigorous and unannounced onsite interviews and reviews back in September of this year. During this process, a team from the Joint Commission had reviewed compliances that were related with certification standards that included quality care and program cohesiveness.
