Cayuga Lake boating accident results in a fatality

Local News

A Cayuga Lake boating accident on Friday resulted in one fatality and another person seriously injured.

Authorities say 50-year-old Christopher Wade and 28-year-old Jamar Lindo, both of Middletown, NY, were out boating most of the day when at one point they crashed into a railroad bridge near the town of Cayuga.

Wade was ejected from the vessel and later pulled from the water by rescue personnel, then pronounced dead after being taken to Auburn Community hospital.

Lindo was found seriously injured onboard and airlifted to Upstate Medical Center, where he was last known to be in serious condition as of early Friday night.

More details on the crash are pending further investigation.
