Cayuga Healths Transfusion Administration Record Project Team Recognized For Health System Safety Award

Cayuga Health says their Transfusion Administration Record (TAR) Project team has recently been awarded with Cayuga Health’s Advancing & Maintaining Excellence in Safety (AMES) Award. TAR is an electronic system that tracks the blood transfusion process from the initial provider’s order all the way to the final administration of blood or blood products to patients.

“Receiving the AMES award is a testament to the dedication and commitment to excellence of the Transfusion Administration Record Project Team,” said Reyna Florentino, Chief Risk & Quality Officer. “This award serves as a reminder of our collective responsibility to continuously strive for excellence in healthcare. I’m incredibly proud of the team’s achievement and grateful for their unwavering commitment to advancing patient safety at Cayuga Health.”

The AMES Award was created to honor a former employee of Cayuga Health, Karen Ames. The award is to recognize units, departments or individuals who work on creating “significant” improvements towards safety and quality.
