Cayuga Health has announced yesterday that their mandatory masking for all Cayuga Health patients and visitors, has now ended, effective today, May 11th.
The removal of the mask requirement is due to a reduction in COVID-19 community and transmission rates. Self-screening will be in place at all of Cayuga Health’s facility entrances with questions asking if you have symptoms, diagnosis, or have had contact with someone who has COVID-19.
Employees for Cayuga Health will continue to wear N-95 masks and eye protection when they are caring for patients who are suspected or known to have COVID-19.
Cayuga Health continues to recommend mask wearing for all patients, staff, and visitors. Those planning to visit a Cayuga Health location will now be able to choose to use a mask based on their personal preference.
Monitoring of COVID-19 community and transmission rates will continue by Cayuga Health with adjustments to the new policy if cases increase.
