Cayuga Health Appoints New Chief Nursing Officer

Cayuga Health announced on Tuesday that they have appointed Debra Morton as their newest Chief Nursing Officer.
Morton, a Doctor of Nursing Practice, was selected following a review process that saw nurses, physicians, and administrators across the health system. She has over 30 years of experience in hospital operations, labor relations, and strategic planning, with previous experience as Vice President of Patient Care Services and Chief Nursing Officer at Lifebridge Health Sinai Hospital in Baltimore, Maryland. Morton will be responsible for leadership and vision in nursing and patient services, and ensuring high-quality care in both inpatient and outpatient settings.
“I am pleased to join Cayuga Health to shape the future of nursing practice,” said Morton. “I was impressed by Cayuga Health nurses’ dedication to providing excellent care in a community setting and am confident that together, we will achieve new levels of nursing innovation and achievement typically only realized in larger more urban settings.”
Morton will report directly to Dr. Martin Stallone, the CEO and President of Cayuga Health. Her first day is September 30th.
