During the Town of Cortlandville Board meeting on Wednesday, October 4th, the Town Board voted unanimously to authorize Town Supervisor Tom Williams to sign the State and Municipal Facilities Program Preliminary Application.
The grant application is for shared services of a mobile stage. The joint venture would replace the old red mobile stage that has been used at numerous events in the City of Cortland, Town of Cortlandville, and County over the years. That stage was retired back in 2019 after 37 years of use.
All three municipalities would share the cost of the new stage on top of the grant and share in maintenance costs. Cost for the new stage would be $177,640 dollars.
The mobile stage in question is a ShowMaster and would be 14 feet wide and 36 feet long. The mobile stage would be ADA accessible, have stair access, acoustic wall panels, a leveling system, and power hookups.
The City of Cortland Youth Bureau will assist with the management and scheduling of the new mobile stage, delivery, set up/tear down, and storage, Andrea Piedigrossi, Director of the Youth Bureau said to X101 News.
“I’m thankful for the relationship the City has with the Town and County to be able to collaborate on this stage grant and I’m looking forward to the first summer full of great performances on it!” Piedigrossi said.
