Butch Trucks Memorial Takes Place In Macon

A private memorial was held on Monday (February 20th) for the late-Allman Brothers Band drummer Butch Trucks.

Trucks, who was 69, fatally shot himself of January 24th.

Ultimate Classic Rock reported friends and family were on hand at Macon, Georgia’s Cox Capitol Theatre, including “former Allman Brothers Band members Warren Haynes, Derek Trucks, Oteil Burbridge, and Jaimoe, along with Susan Tedeschi, Jimmy Herring, and Vaylor Trucks, Butch’s son and bandmate in the Freight Train Band. . . Duane Trucks — who, like Derek, is one of Butch’s nephews – is a member of Widespread Panic.”

A public tribute for Trucks is set for March 1st at New York City’s American Beauty.
