You may have seen the news stories of fires, accidents, or other emergency calls and think it is a busy year so far. The Cortlandville Fire Department recently announced that they have answered 38 calls for service so far this year.
The department is made entirely of volunteers and are always looking for additional members. For those interested in volunteering with the Cortlandville Fire Department, the department is encouraging those to reach out to them via Facebook through chat, or by calling the department at 607-753-9014.
Last year, the fire department responded to 545 calls, with firefighters logging 4,877 hours answering alarms and another 7,364 hours for training.
