Budget, P & C Plaza, Food Trucks All Part Of Council Agenda In Cortland

Local News

A public hearing and vote on the City of Cortland’s 2018 budget are on the agenda for tonight’s (Tuesday) Common Council meeting.

Part of the budget – the withdrawal of $20,000 from volunteer firefighters to transfer into a Council Member account, could draw attention.

Much of the money could possibly pay for more Main Street cameras next summer.

The move was sponsored by Aldermen Silliman, Bennett, Carpenter, Ferrer, Megivern, and Michales.

The public also gets to comment on a city plan to ask for state help to redevelop the old P&C Plaza on Homer Avenue.

Food trucks are back as council revisits creating rules for the street meat.

Council will be asked to approve a special Waste Water Assessment to help pay for upgrades at the treatment plant.
