Tom Kile, President of the National Brockway Truck Preservation Society spoke to the Village of Homer Board of Trustees regarding the planned return of the Brockway Truck Show to the Village of Homer. The show on Main Street in the Village is to take place on Saturday, August 10th on Main Street, where trucks will parade from the CNY Living History Center to Main Street for display. The Brockway Truck Show itself is a three-day-long event beginning on August 9th through the 11th.

“There is nobody on the Brockway Board that ever wants to change this venue [Homer]. Everybody is totally happy with the Village of Homer. You guys have been more than accommodating; last year, the way things were set up in the park, on the green.”

Tom Kile said to the Board of Trustees

Kile continued on saying the number of Brockway Trucks attending the show has continued to increase since the move from Downtown Cortland; over 160 trucks is possible for this year he mentioned with word of mouth between Brockway Truck owners spreading on the annual show.

“The word is, if you missed it, you better get here.”

Kile said regarding the ongoing word of mouth

The feeling on the show in Homer is equally a joy to the Board of Trustees too. Village of Homer Mayor Hal McCabe had this to say when offering his opinion to the Brockway Truck Show.

“It’s just a great thing for the Village. It brings people in from all over the country….. the world.” McCabe said.

The parade on August 10th will begin around 8am and trucks will be on display until mid/late afternoon. More information on this year’s show may be found at BrockwayTrucks.org.
