Bus Bomb Threat Leads to Lock Down at OCM BOCES Cortland

Today (December 8) Cortland County Sheriffs responded to OCM Boces on Rt. 13 in Cortlandville to a report of a bomb threat on a school bus.



In a preliminary investigation, the bus driver (whose name will not be released) overheard while en route to OCM Boces, students riding on the bus talking about a bomb that was brought aboard the bus. The driver notified OCM Boces which then lead to an immediate hold-in place order until the bus and the surrounding area were checked. There were no explosives found.

The child who made the statement was identfied and also confirmed that there were no explosives.

The investigation is still ongoing and Investigators with the Cortland County Sheriff’s Office are following up with school administration and students.

Assisting with the investigation was the Cortland Police Department, University Police at SUNY Cortland and Cortlandville Fire Department.

Currently ongoing at the OCM BOCES Cortland Emergency Services blocked off entrances to the campus.

There is no information currently available at this time, but the Sheriff’s Dept. reports that everything is under control.
