Boil Water Order in Village of Dryden Lifted

The boil water order issued by Tompkins County Whole Health, has been listed after repairs were made after a large water main break within the Village of Dryden. The Division of Environmental Health for Tompkins County Whole Health says the lift comes after the repair and a satisfactory microbiological test on the water.

Residents who are customers of the Village of Dryden water system, were under a boil water order since Friday after a water main break at the intersection of Mill Street and West Main Street in the village. The Village of Dryden said the break caused a loss of water service for a number of residents, but also said that loss in water pressure would have allowed contamination to enter the water system, thus leading to a boil water order by the county.
