Blood Drives Announced by Red Cross for March

The American Red Cross will be celebrating their 80th annual American Red Cross Month during the month of March, which began back in 1943 when President Franklin D. Roosevelt issued the first Red Cross month proclamation.

“When help can’t wait during emergencies, people in our western New York, Finger Lakes and Southern Tier communities rally together to provide relief and hope for neighbors in need,” said Nick Bond, Regional CEO of the Red Cross of Western New York.

Upcoming blood drives have been announced in Cortland, Homer, and Marathon for this month to ensure the blood supply doesn’t dwindle before the Spring season.

Those drives include:

3/3 – 12p – 5p SUNY Cortland – Corey Union Building
3/7 – 11a – 4p Port Watson Mini Conference Center, 131 Port Watson St.
3/9 – 12:30p – 5:30p Cortlandville Fire Department, 999 Route 13
3/18 – 9a – 2p St. Mary’s Church, 44 N Main St.
