Billy Joel & Girlfriend Alexis Roderick Expecting Baby This Summer

Music News

Billy Joel and longtime girlfriend Alexis Roderick are expecting a baby. Billy, who’s now 65, has a daughter — 29-year-old musician Alexa Ray Joel — from his second marriage to Christie Brinkley. The new baby will be the first for Roderick, who is 33. Roderick is a former financial advisor for Morgan Stanley.

Billy’s representative issued a statement saying: “Billy Joel and his girlfriend, Alexis Roderick, are expecting their first child this summer. The couple, together since 2009, opted to keep any further details of her pregnancy under wraps until their new addition makes an official debut.”

A source close to the couple revealed to Radar.com, “They want to call the baby Madison. It’s a girl! There are lots of family photos with Alexis and her growing belly.”
Another unnamed source said: “She doesn’t leave the house too often because she doesn¹t want anyone to know. And she wears big dresses to cover it up.”
Although Billy Joel has a colorful history — both on and off the stage — he admits that he’s hardly what one would call nostalgic: “I can’t plan what I’m gonna do. It sort of happens — it just kinda pops into my head: ‘That’s what I’m gonna do.’ I don’t rest on my laurels. I’m not thinking about what I’ve done; I think about what I’m gonna do. Or I think what I’m doing right at the moment. I really don’t like to look back too much. Too much retrospective thinking starts to make me feel like I’m a fossil.”
