“Biking Without A Bell” Charge Leads To Meth Lab On Charles Street

Local News

Police say something about 31-year old John Harris made them suspicious.

On Wednesday, they spotted him in front of a store on Clinton Avenue and then stopped him on Charles Street for riding a bike without a bell.

He would later face additional charges such as felony possession of a Controlled Substance, Unlawful Manufacture of Methamphetamine, Possession of a Weapon, Using Drug Paraphernalia and Possession of a Controlled Substance.

Officers say they discovered that Harris had a small amount of Meth and some pills.

The investigation took officers to Harris’ last known address on Charles Street, where they found the items to manufacture Methamphetamine.

The State Police Contaminated Crime Scene Response Team was called in to clear the chemicals to begin to make the apartment safe again.

Harris was jailed awaiting a court appearance today (Friday).
