Beginnings Credit Union Celebrates Transition of Port Watson Branch From CFCU
Wednesday afternoon, CEO of Beginnings Credit Union, Lisa Whitaker, cut the ribbon outside their Port Watson Branch at 182 Port Watson Street in the City of Cortland. The Port Watson branch recently completed its rebranding from CFCU to Beginnings Credit Union.

CFCU Community Credit Union began the transition to Beginnings Credit Union this past summer with the official launch of Beginnings starting this past July. Whitaker said prior to the ribbon cutting that Beginnings is more than a name change and a different look, but provides an opportunity to become more modern, grow their membership, and also increase the services they provide for their members.
She went on to add this transition is another major mile-stone for the nearly 75 years in operation for Beginnings. The transition embraces the future, but Whitaker strongly added, they will still maintain their core values that have made them successful for nearly 75 years.

Cortland Mayor Scott Steve said the City of Cortland is honored to have a company such as Beginnings part of the community, noting their commitment to community events, fundraisers, and more.
The Port Watson Branch is now officially one of 17 branches that has undergone the transformation and rebranding to Beginnings. Beginnings has nearly 77,000 members with over $1.4 billion dollars in assets and serves across seven counties.
X101 has had the opportunity to speak with Katie Foley, Vice President of Marketing & Sales for Beginnings on some of the planned expanded services and overall details of the rebranding.
