
A large fire broke out in a barn located in Otisco NY between the corner of Route 80 and Kingsley Rd around 11:30am yesterday morning.
Multiple Fire departments were called to the scene including half a dozen from Cortland County.
The fire, which started in a barn containing hay, began to burn quickly with intensified heat leading to power lines melting causing power outages in the area.
Route 80 was closed for an extended period of time as fire crews fought the flames and heat.
Three firefighters in total were sent to area hospitals for heat exhaustion.
Cortland County fire departments that assisted were: Cortlandville, Cuyler, Homer, McGraw, Preble, Truxton.
The cause of the fire is being investigated.
