Barbara Streisand Memoir Set For Release In 2017

Music News

Barbra Streisand is an entertainment icon and the world will finally get to read her story in her own words. On Wednesday, May 20th, Viking announced that they had acquired the rights to Streisand’s memoir which will be released in 2017.

Viking’s Brian Tart said in a released statement, “Barbra Streisand’s memoir is the entertainment story that has been on the top of every publisher’s wish list for years . . . There are over fifty unauthorized biographies about Ms. Streisand that are full of myths and inaccuracies, and she is finally going to tell her own story.”

In 2006, Streisand actually took to the web to respond to Christopher Andersen’s unauthorized biography, Barbra: The Way She Is. She wrote, “Who is the person described in this book? From what has been told to me, certainly not anyone I know. This stereotypic image bears little resemblance to me or anything about me.”
