A voluntary recall has been announced on Banana Boat Hair & Scalp Sunscreen Spray SPF 30 after it was determined that trace levels of benzene were found, classified as a human carcinogen.
The recalled batches have expiration dates of December 2022, February 2023, and April 2024.
Benzene is not an ingredient for Banana Boat and what was found was considered unexpected.
Edgewell Personal Care Company, makers of Banana Boat, says consumers should dispose of the affected product and the company will offer reimbursements.
