An Auburn man who was arrested Tuesday (August 13) for kidnapping a 24-year-old woman at knife-point was released yesterday from Cayuga County Jail, following the posting of a $50,000 bond.

Investigators in Cayuga County say 27-year-old Darnell Wilson, of North Division Street, broke into the woman’s Weedsport home around 4:00 Tuesday morning and forced her to leave the home with him by threatening her with a knife.

Members of the Cayuga County Sheriff’s Office were later able to locate the woman at Wilson’s home, subsequently allowing her to return to her own without any physical harm.

Wilson was arrested on four different charges including kidnapping and unlawful imprisonment.

He was arraigned in the Village of Weedsport Court and committed to the Cayuga County Jail in lieu of $25,000/$50,000 bond, which was posted the next day (August 14) allowing Wilson’s release.
