Attention Commuters – i81 North to Close at i481 Interchange During Overnights Beginning Monday

Attention commuters, the New York State Department of Transportation says i81 Northbound will be closed to traffic between Exit 16A and the interchange with i481 Southbound beginning on Monday, February 19th.

The closure will only take place during the overnights on weekdays, the DOT says. Hours of the closure will be from 7pm to 6am. The closure is to facilitate the demolition of the flyover ramps that connects the i81 Southbound ramp to i481 Northbound.

The DOT says motorists will follow the detour signs in place which will direct traffic at Exit 16A to i481 North, to west on Rock Cut Road, to north on Brighton Ave, to i81 Northbound.

All construction will be weather-dependent and is subject to change. The closure is expected through Friday, March 1st.
