Assistance Event For Those Needing a Reduced Fare ID Card For Centro Happening at Access to Independence Next Week

Way2Go of Cortland says those who are looking to get a reduced fare ID card for public transportation will be able to do so at Access to Independence next Friday, May 16th from 8am to noon. Way2Go says during the event representatives from Centro will be available to process a reduced fare ID card and answer any questions regarding the service.

According to Centro, seniors and persons with disabilities who utilize public transportation are encouraged to apply for a Reduced Fare Photo ID. The card will help save money when riding the bus. Centro says the Reduced Fare Photo ID’s are accepted on any regular Centro bus any day of the week and any time of day. The Reduce Fare Photo ID allows those who have it to ride the bus for half-fare.

Those eligible for the half-fare include seniors 65 years and older, Medicare Card holders, persons with disabilities, and children between the ages of 6 to 9.

During next Friday’s event at Access to Independence, information will be available on Centro’s paratransit service called Call-A-Bus.
