These arrests were reported by City of Cortland Police on Monday, April 16:
Vincent Maldonado, 25, of Cortland, was arrested Saturday night at 11:15 pm for False Personation, Aggravated Unlicensed Operation of a Motor Vehicle, and Crossing a Road Hazard Marking.
Cortland Police Lt. Rick Troyer says Maldonado was driving on the shoulder of the road on Clinton Avenue.
Police say he gave a false date of birth and had a suspended driver license.
Maldonado was released to appear in city court on April 27.
Patrick Cabane, 25, of Cortland, was arrested on Saturday afternoon at 1:45 pm for Harassment, Criminal Mischief, and Resisting Arrest.
According to information provided by Cortland Police, Cabane hit a 20-year-old woman in the face and broke her glasses.
He is also accused of punching a 47-year-old man with a closed fist and police say he resisted arrest.
Cabane was sent to jail awaiting $50.00 cash or $100.00 bail bond and is to appear today (Monday).
Nicholas Donovan, 16, of Cortland, was arrested early Saturday morning at 2:25 am.
Cortland Police say he was charged with Assault, Petit Larceny, Endangering the Welfare of a Child, Criminal Mischief, and Harassment.
According to police, on Friday night at about 6 pm Donovan became involved in a fight with a 13-year-old girl at a home on Young Street.
He’s accused of throwing her to the floor, causing a hairline fracture to her left arm.
Donovan is also accused of punching a 48-year-old woman with a closed fist, stealing her cell phone and damaged a window and vacuum cleaner.
Police say he was released to appear in City Court again on Wednesday.
A woman from East Rockway, was arrested early Sunday morning after shoving a Cortland Police officer.
Kiersten Copte, who is 19, was charged at 12:25 AM with Harassment, Resisting Arrest, Unlawful Possession of Alcohol Under 21, and violating the Open Container law.
Police report she did have an open container of alcohol on Clayton Avenue.
Copte shoved police officer and resisted arrest, according to Lt. Rick Troyer.
She was released to appear in City Court again on April 28.
Donald Whitman, 24, of Cortland, was arrested at 12:27 am on Thursday.
Police say he was charged with Criminal Contempt, and Unlawful Possession of Marijuana.
Whitman was seen walking past the Clinton Avenue residence of a 34-year-old woman who had a valid order of protection against him.
Police found he had marijuana when arrested.
Whitman was released to appear again in City Court on May 11.
Sabrina Proctor, 21, and Kyle Short, 21, both of Cortland, and Melissa Randall, 44, of Ithaca, were arrested Sunday evening at 7:35 pm by Cortland Police.
They were accused of Petit Larceny and Conspiracy.
Police say the three conspired and stole $30.37 worth of food items from P&C Fresh on Clinton.
The trio was released to appear again in City Court on April 27.
