Cortland Police report the arrest of Kristopher St. John, 23, of Cortland on Monday night.
Police say St. John stole State Lottery scratch off tickets, money and food totaling more than $1,000, and falsified business records at a convenience store on Clinton Avenue.
Lt. Rick Troyer says St. John will be arraigned today (Tuesday) in city court on felony charges of Grand Larceny and Falsifying Business Records.
An argument on Saturday morning at an apartment on Clinton Avenue in Cortland led to the arrests of two people from the city.
Cortland Police say Kail Labouf, 23, faces charges of Harassment, Criminal Mischief and Endangering the Welfare of a Child.
Police say Labouf was arguing with Dustin Blake, 27, in front of their two kids and a third child.
Blake was charged with Felony Criminal Contempt and Criminal Mischief and with Endangering the Welfare of a Child.
Police say Blake broke Labouf’s cell phone, violating an order of protection.
Labouf damaged a door and threatened another woman in the apartment.
Police say Labouf was released for a court appearance next month, and Blake was jailed awaiting bail and court today (Tuesday).
Cortland Police arrested a man from Cincinnatus on Friday afternoon for Endangering the Welfare of a Child, Harassment and for not having a child in a child safety restraint seat.
Police say an argument between Roger Allen, 30, and a 27-year old woman didn’t even make it out of the Public Safety Building parking lot.
Police say at one point, Allen pushed the woman away and removed two children ages 2 and 5 from her car into his, but his car was without child seats.
He took off and police found him later at Walmart.
Allen was released until court on January 25.
Thomas Shingler, 33, of Cortland, was arrested Friday afternoon for talking a 70-year old woman and a 71-year old man out of money using phony sob stories.
Cortland Police say Shingler asked for, and received, money to help with his wife’s cancer treatment, and a taxi cab ride for his son.
The Petit Larceny and Scheme To Defraud charges go back to New Year’s Day.
Shingler is due in court today (Tuesday).
